I just like the advice to not dive without plugging your nose. Would that make me feel safer to swim with the killer amoebas? I don't think so!

In a previous life, when I was living at the co-op near UCLA, one of my roommates was working on her master's in epidemiology. She came across this in one of her text books. Basically, the amoeba eat the brain and the skull becomes filled with their excrement (not kidding). It gives new meaning to the term "shit for brains."
